Looking for a good audio recording device

Posted by zer0701 Jul. 14, 2009 @ 12:30 AM EDT

EDIT: Been taking forever to get the recorder, and also my piano needs some tuning. Please be patient, I promisse it will be well worth the wait!!

I've been practicing my piano since ages, and finally I have some decent stuff to post on the audio portal. As soon as I have the time (and the money), I'm gonna look for a decent audio recorder. This is a list of what I've already got ready to record:

-Mozart's Turkish March
-Beethoven's Moonlight Sonate 7th movement
-Beethoven's Pour Elise

And these other ones should follow right after... (well, in fact not, they should take some time to be decent enough)

-Scott D. Davis's Tribute to Metallica - The Unforgiven and Fade to Black
-Pachebel's Canon in D
-Mad Racer (theme from Top Gear)

I'll update the news as soon as I get my recorder, so keep and eye out!

Are you looking for a USB MIDI keyboard? I use this bad boy right here http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us /KeyStudio.html

It's very simple, so if you're just going to be using to play the piano and no extra frills, this is the one for you. It's durable, light, comes with free recording software if you don't already have any, and the keys are fully dynamic. I would suggest finding it at a store just to touch to make sure it's right. Because it's so simple and cheap, the keys aren't weighted so if you're used to playing on a proper piano (which I'm sure you are) it might take a lot of practice to get used to.

For me, this thing is perfect. It suits me and my needs to a T, but I'm by no means a pianist. Still, for $100, you can't find a better USB MIDI keyboard on the market.

Hey, I was talking about a sound recording device, as I actually intended to play on the piano, but this idea sounds great! I'll consider it, thanks!
